All About Wii Remote/Wii Controller

Wii remote/Wii controller is the most important Wii game accessory and available with different functionality and shapes. The Wii controller, Wii remote and Wiimote are synonymous to each other. All offer the same single handed control and are sure to make your gaming experience easy and flexible.

The Wii controller is accompanied by an Analog Devices ADXL330 accelerometer and a PixArt optical sensor. This helps the Wii remote to build a nice coordination between our hands and the screen. It is the remote which allows you to play with your online characters.

The biggest benefit of the Wiimote is you can perform all the functions from a single place. The use of Wii remote begins the moment you insert the CD into the console. A few functions you can do with the help of your Wii remote are as follows:

• You can select the player mode single, double or multiplayer as the game offers
• You can play, pause and stop in between of the game
• Control the volume
• Select and customize your special game character
• Make your special game characters jump, run, shoot, skate, dive and do many other things

The console’s sensor bar is the lifeline for the working of the Wii remote. The Wii remote understands the light from the censor bar, audio functionality and sports-level rumble. The two AA batteries keep the Wii controller charged up for your use. It also contains a 16 KiB EEPROM chip.

It often happens that when we are watching television the remote control falls from our hand and breaks. This makes it non usable and creates an immediate need to purchase a new remote. To avoid such a situation while playing your favorite games the Wii controller comes with wrist holder. Just pull it to your wrist and your remote is safe.

To add more pleasure and ease to your game the Wii remote can have many attachments. These attachments are called attachment controllers and are marketed by Nintendo and others. Some examples of attachments to Wii remote are Classic Controller, Wii Wheel, Nunchuk and Wii Zapper.

Need For Speed ProStreet

In ProStreet there are four different game modes: Drag, Grip, Speed, and Drift. Drag race is simply a 1/4-mile or 1/2-mile drag race, witih the first to cross the finish line wins. In grip races, which are circuit races of different modes (normal grip, class grip, sector shootout and time attack), the player has a choice to play rough, such as ramming, smashing, or blocking the opponent in order to win the race, or cleanly follow the given racing lines. In the speed challenge, players must pass checkpoints with the highest possible speed, and the racer with the highest total checkpoint speed wins. In drift, players drift to emerge as the driver with the most points scored in the event.

ProStreet features next-generation graphics for a more photo-realistic feel, and more advanced physics. It is also the first Need for Speed game to include damage modelling since 2002's Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 . The new damage system is very accurate, and a collision with any object in the game world may render a car damaged or even totaled.[3]

Also, in accordance to the fact that Autosculpting any body parts will impact performance, these changes can be tested in an enclosed chamber marked as the "Wind Tunnel". Your car is placed in the Wind Tunnel and artificial winds are created, giving you a chance to measure your performance on the track. This feature can be used to tune the car to the players liking.

There are over 60 cars from around 26 manufactures included in ProStreet. Only eight of these are supercars, making them relatively rare, as in real life. The game also features the new Nissan GT-R R35.

There are also a number of unfinished cars that can be obtained through hex-editing, which include the popular import, Honda S2000, the all conquering Bugatti Veyron, and the classic Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione. Ironically, none of the cars are built as pro street cars or are associated with them.[8]

ProStreet features some girls cast as characters in the game. Krystal Forscutt, a former Big Brother Australia contestant, and Sayoko Ohashi are starting girls.

All three voice actors heard throughout ProStreet's career mode are professional race event announcers : Jarod DeAnda (Big-J/Battle Machine) announcers live at all Formula-D drift events; John Hindhaugh (Roger Evans/React Team Sessions) travels around the globe hosting Radio Le Mans, and JBird (J-Mac/Super Promotion) is the official voice of NOPI

PlayStation 3 Delayed

By: Jason Hahn

Sony's original plan was to unveil its new PlayStation 3 in Japan this spring, but due to difficulties concerning its production plans, it seems that Japan will not see the new PS3 until August, and that the U.S. will not see it until November. One of the main production difficulties is related to the Blu-ray Disc drive in each console.

According to a Sony spokesperson, the company is waiting for the final specifications on some of the technology that is being used in the PS3, which includes the Blu-ray drive as well as input and output video and sound.

Sony's stock took a hit on Monday after Merrill Lynch released a research note last week which indicated that the PS3's launch may be postponed by six to 12 months, and that the cost of materials used in the console's production could be around $900 per unit at the outset.

Yuta Sakurai, a senior analyst at Nomura Securities, estimates the price of the unit to be around 50,000 yen, which is about $420. "I don't think it matters when Sony launches in the U.S. as long as it's in time for Christmas," he added.

Sakurai expects Sony to aim for an early summer launch, which would be in time for the big selling season around July, which is when schools are on holiday.

Little is known for sure about the PS3 as of yet. Price estimates by analysts in Japan vary greatly, ranging from 40,000 to 300,000 yen. The console will allow up to seven players to play at once, and will be powered by the "Cell" chip, which is more powerful than Intel's Pentium 4.

Other features include an enhanced graphics chip, a built-in Ethernet port, and Blu-ray, which is a next-generation DVD format that is backed by Sony.

Since the technology specs for the PS3 are being delayed, game developers are forced to develop games with guesswork. "Game makers are developing games according to their guesses on what the final specifications might be," said BNP Paribas analyst, Takeshi Tajima.

Sony's PS3 will compete with the likes of the recently-released Xbox360 and Nintendo's Revolution console, which is expected to be released later this year.

Keys to Sony Playstation 1 and 2 success
By: Aaron Brooks
Sony Playstation 1 & 2 sold over 214 million units. Whew that is mind boggling! Ever wondered how Sony managed to reach this level of success? Success is about technological superiority, branding, costing, and popularity. Sony has over the years established and maintained a world-wide credibility. In the gaming world, Sony has gained and maintained a strong presence. It addressed in totality the four Ps: Product, Price, Promotion, and Placement.

Market watchers who have kept their finger on the pulse of the gaming console market feel that Sony Playstation will maintain its lead as:

1. The conglomerate has created an indelible "brand" recognition. In the 80s and 90s the No1 slot was held by Nintendo, today gaming is synonymous with Sony PlayStation. Even the launch of Xbox 360 has not moved Sony Playstation from its popularity or position as market leader. Playstations 1&2 have established a loyalty in gamers and PS3 will benefit from this established presence. Creation of a strong and sustaining brand presence just ensured that a large number of customers will stick with the brand they know, trust, and love.

2. Sony has created a product that satisfies a need. The Sony Playstation satisfies all gaming needs. Its user friendly, exciting, affordable, and innovative. Sony has pulled out all stops in the creation of playstations 1, 2, &3. The company employs developers who understand the very needs and pulse of world wide gamers. Games in the Sony series are popular and have long term use. The games are chosen to satisfy Eastern as well as Western Gaming needs. The aim of Sony was to be "king" of multimedia entertainment and so, the gaming consoles became all in all with great sound, online connectivity, and realism. The playstations became the game machine that took gaming from the confines of the living room to different corners of the world via the internet. What is more the playstation is designed to play DVDs and music too.

3. Sony has ensured that the playstations become household names by pricing the consoles competitively and creating an aggressive advertising foray. Clever positioning of the playstations as a must have and dream come true in the ad campaigns has played a crucial role in increasing sales. The success lay in the creation of a cachet brand.

4. According to industry leaders, the crux lay in Sony striking the right balance between image, marketing, and branding. It tapped third -party publisher talents and gained access-all-areas support and royalties. It also used the technique of stealth positioning to diffuse prejudice about the playstation and encourage acceptance about the value of the products.

Sony playstation has charted a success story that moves from strength to strength and what is impressive is that SPS2 and SPS3 are backwardly compatible with previous playstations. This means that gamers can continue to enjoy favorites on older playstations thus establishing a continuity.

According to Sony's chief executive, "the future of the company is in the creation of champion products that are runaway hits that translate into profits and help maintain the No 1 position for the company."

Java Online Games
By: Michael Colucci
After Shockwave, Java is the most popular tool for developing free online games. It is a popular programming language which was developed by James Gosling during the 1990s. It is somewhat related to C++ but is much more simple, and is an object oriented language. Java was developed because C++ was considered to be too complex and when using it there were many errors.

C++ also lacked the ability for distributed programming. Gosling and his colleagues wanted to produce a system that could be used on various platforms, from computer to handheld devices. By 1994 Java begin to be used on the internet. They felt that the internet would become interactive, and this would be the perfect environment to use their programming language. They were right. Java has become one of the most well known platforms in use today on the internet.

Many developers of free online games have quickly realized its potential. While Shockwave has replaced Java as the most popular engine used for online games, Java is still the tool of choice among many developers. Java became very popular when Netscape decided to support the program with their browsers. Most people use Java by the "applets" which are supported by their online browsers.

Yahoo has often been credited with heavily using Java to produce online games. Yahoo games is the portion of their website in which players can play games by themselves or against other players. While most of these games are Java applets, others have to be downloaded onto the computer. Reviews are even featured where users can post their thoughts about the quality of the game. Yahoo is one of the most prominent promoters of free online games. Everything from fantasy sports to card games are available.

Despite this, there are some criticisms of the Java programming language. Shockwave has a 3D engine which is much more powerful, and many developers have chose it rather than Java. Others complain that it is not a very pure object oriented programming language. Those who dislike object oriented languages will not design free online games with Java. Programs written in Java may also run slower than programs written in other languages.

Despite these complaints, Java has become one of the most popular languages used for developing independent games. Advances in this language should allow it to produce games which are much higher in quality and graphical detail. Many popular games can be played at the Java website.

Hardware inside Xbox 360 Reviewed and Explained

By: Aaron Brooks
Gaming has reached new levels with newer and meaner machines coming into the market. The Xbox 360, PSP3, and Wii are all set to fulfill gaming dreams. What makes a console powerful and state-of-art is its hardware.

The Xbox 360 has a 20GB hard drive; wireless controllers; headset; DVD remote; Ethernet cable; AV cables; and external power supply.

• Inside the mean gaming machine, the Xbox 360 is a powerful computer. The Xbox 360 harbors a customized IBM Power PC CPU with three processing cores with 3.2 GHz power. The system has a 3.2 GHz tri-core PowerPC based CPU and a 500 MHZ GPU.

• The ATI graphics processor has a capacity of 500 million triangles per second. It has a chip, Xenos, designed by ATI. This raises the 3D effects and graphics to astounding levels of clarity and definition. The X box 360 is said to have a 16 giga samples p/s fill rate along with 4X antialiasing and 48 billion shader operations per second and a9 billion dot product operations per second. The specifications are breathtaking and according to the CNET editors review, " it is hard to compare or comment on a machine with futuristic capabilities and one that is yet to have a comparison." What the Xbox 360 will have is realistic graphics.

• The memory system is GenX and has a 512 MB of 700 megahertz GDDR3 RAM on a 128-bit bus. The system has a unified memory architecture which is shared by the CPU and GPU.

• The bandwidth is high and is utilized for z-buffering, alpha blending, and antialiasing. The system is designed to be efficient and save time and space on the GPU die.

The CNET Editor's review has awarded the Xbox 360 a rating of 8.4 /10. According to the reviewers the Xbox360 will support high definition gaming. The Xbox 360, a gaming console developed by Microsoft is user-friendly and sturdy in design. The system offers downloads, communications, and excellent gaming opportunities. A GenX media hub the Xbox 360 allows playing of DVDs, CDs, TV shows, and games. It has the power and performance of a high-end gaming console which includes great networking. What is negative about the X box 360 is that it has a few design flaws that need ironing out. The power supply is oversized, the fan noisy, there is no inbuilt wireless networking, no DVI or HDMI output, a substandard DVD player, and no suitable storage for high definition content.

Opinions on the Xbox 360 are widely divided. A firm consensus can only be reached twelve months or so after the release when gamers and developers world wide begin using the console and discover the flaws and hidden facets.

Xbox 360 - Gamer's Dream Machine
By: Paul Wilson
The Xbox360 is a video game console that is visionary. It competes with the Sony Play Station 3 and Nintendo Revolution. A gamers' dream machine, the Xbox 360 is sold in two versions a premium edition that has a hard drive, a wireless controller, headset, Ethernet cable, a HD AV cable, and an Xbox live silver subscription and a core system.

Powerful and futuristic the Xbox360 includes HD gaming, perfect sound, and sensational graphics. The system offers high-end gaming with several exciting possibilities. It revolutionizes video game consoles and is, in actuality, a computer dedicated to gaming. It is not just a gaming machine it is a media center that allows you to play games, network with other gamers around 360 of them, rip, stream, and download high definition movies, music, digital pictures, games, music, and play DVDs and CDs. It is what makes dreams into realities.

The Xbox360 has around 18 titles in the US including games like Call of Duty 2, Dead or Alive 4, Every Party, FIFA 06, NBA live, Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, and Project Gotham Racing 3. Technically, it has advanced graphics and a 115 GFLOPS theoretical peak performance. All games support a six channel Dolby Digital Sound with no voice echo.

Apart from video and DVD playing the X box 360 live market place allows the user to connect to Xbox live even if offline. Users can view messages and game invites sent by other Xbox live members. The live market place allows download of avatars, trailers, as well as game demos.

With the Xbox360 a person can view a complete record of games played, play games downloaded from marketplace, play game demos, watch movie as well as game trailers, listen to music customized for the user, view pictures as well as videos stored on a camera or any other portable device, and activate the media center extender.

The Xbox 360 has backward compatibility and so, users can play games originally developed for the earlier versions of the box. Wireless connectivity and wireless controllers offer great freedom and connectivity at large distances. And, you can download and play arcade style games using the Xbox Live Arcade. Game demos and trailers are offered free but full versions of games have to be purchased using Xbox Live Marketplace using Microsoft points which can be bought through Live or via game cards sold retail.

Technically a few small glitches have been reported. There is what is known as the Xbox360 screen or death which is an error screen. This stops the console and the user is requested to contact technical support. Another problem is that of the Xbox 360 freezing due to overheating. To solve this, users are requested to ensure proper airflow and a cooler environment. If the Xbox is moved from its vertical to its horizontal position while reading a disc, the movement causes the pickup assembly to brush against the disc resulting in radial scratches. Often the Xbox displays red lights instead of a green ring of light to indicate errors.

The X box360 transforms gaming experience into something futuristic and exciting.

Xbox 360: Something Shiny, Something new

By: Ben Howe
In my childhood days, I remember going to my friend's house every weekend. Was it because he was a great friend to hang out with? No, it was because he owned the latest Super Nintendo system, while I was still playing around with my Atari 2600. The pixilated blocks on his Nintendo looked more like people, or tanks, or aero planes than the pixilated blocks on my Atari. (Which looked like, well, blocks).
Fast forward about 20 years and here we are with the latest iteration of the console war. The first contender being Microsoft's Xbox 360. We've now gone from barely recognizable pixilated characters on screen to barely distinguishable from reality. The Xbox's next-gen console is really starting to blur the line between a video game, and watching a movie or a sports game on TV.
In Street Fighter, we exchanged insults with our buddy sitting next to us, as we moved our characters left or right in a 2D environment. We could jump, and there were 6 basic moves (3 punches, 3 kicks) and a couple of special moves. Back then, it was a revolution in gaming, and I remember all of us kids talking about it every day, thinking about how far technology has come. Now, I'm exchanging insults with a stranger halfway across the globe through Xbox live, while we move incredibly detailed characters in a 3D environment. Our fighters perform hundreds of different moves. Punching, kicking, blocking, throwing, counter attacks, dodging, and other moves spanning several martial arts disciplines. We use the environment to our advantage, kicking the other fighters through to another room or another level.
However, I'm not completely amazed with this. In fact, I'm very nonchalant about this. I think it looks great, but it could be better, and it's not because I'm an adult now too. Kids all around the world appreciate the games, but they know that in a year, or even a few months, it will be a lot better. In our technology rush, this is no great breakthrough; it's just a small step.
The Xbox 360, is probably closer to being a computer than any of the current consoles out on the market (So much so, that it does occasionally crash and overheat). It has a hard drive and internet capabilities (for playing games and downloading content).
The 360 is definitely superior to its Original Xbox counterpart in every way. It's more powerful, the games look better (although a lot of them play the same), the online play is better, the wireless controllers feel great, and added features like achievements really add a satisfying dimension to finishing a level, or defeating 50 opponents in a row. Of course, High Definition is the way to go with the Xbox 360. With a HD TV, or computer screen, the 360 really shines with graphics looking so crisp and shiny that they will hypnotize you.
I can't wait to see what Sony, and Nintendo has in store with their new console Iterations.

Learning about the Xbox 360

By: Lisa Arons
Do you know what's special about the Xbox 360? Here are some of the special features you can expect from Xbox 360:

Ring of Light and Xbox Guide Button. The ring of light is the power button and it is divided into four quadrants that can display a number of different colors depending on what is going on.

The Xbox Guide button is prominently featured on the controller as well as the Xbox 360 remote. This will allow you to instantly access information on person who just challenged you on Xbox Live. Or you can even jump right to where you can find downloadable content for the game you are currently playing. The Xbox Guide button will also allow you to turn the Xbox 360 system on and off from the comfort of your couch. That is one great idea that is has long been overdue.

Xbox Live - There will be two types of Xbox Live for the Xbox 360.

The Silver version is free. It allows you to access the Xbox Live Marketplace as well as communicate with your friends using voice chat. However, you cannot play games online.

With the Gold version of Xbox Live, you get all of the possible features. Most importantly, you can play games online. Your achievements and statistics will be stored so you can check them whenever you want. You will also be able to use video chat and video messaging. Microsoft has announced that all new Xbox 360 owners will get Gold Service feature for the first month. After that, the pricing will be similar to Xbox Live on the current Xbox.

Xbox Live Marketplace. Another great feature of Xbox 360. The marketplace is an area where you will be able to download game demos and trailers as well as new content for games such as new levels, characters, vehicles, weapons, and many others. Some things are free of charge but you will have to pay for some premium content.

Digital Entertainment. The Xbox 360 allows you to rip your music to the hard drive to be used during games. It will also stream music off of any MP3 player that you plug into the USB 2.0 ports. This is including Sony PSP.

You can also upload photos to the hard drive and share them with your friends on Xbox Live. The Xbox 360 also features DVD movies. Unlike the original Xbox, the Xbox 360 can display them in progressive scan. It seems like DVD playback will be available out of the box and will not require the purchase of an extra remote or anything. Definitely an improvement.

Personalizing your console. With the interchangeable faces of the system itself, you can change the color of your system whenever you want by simply snapping on a new face.

You do not even have to buy new faces because you could simply paint the stock face yourself. It is guaranteed that Microsoft will roll out a line of limited edition and collectible faces to lure people in, though.

You will also be able to customize the look and feel of the Xbox Guide browser on the system. Suspiciously similar to changing themes in Windows on your computer. Customization is always a good thing and while these features do not really mean anything in the long run, they certainly provide a nice change every once in awhile.

Xbox 360 and its great features are a great deal unto itself. Keep in mind though it can be addictive and it's good to get your homework done too.

Basically, the hard drive is the one playing a major role in how you can use the Xbox 360. You are given the choice of saving the progress of the game on the hard drive, as well as rip your CDs to it.

You can transfer music, videos, and photos from your mp3 player or other USB devices. It will also be necessary to spend more time on Xbox Live because custom content, patches, and other downloadable content needs to be put stored somewhere and a little 64MB memory card isn't going to cut it.

The hard drive is required for backwards compatibility. The other bonus to having such a hard drive is that loading time is faster especially in some games and other performances boosts.

With all these Xbox features available I bet you can find some good entertainment. Try to remember it's important to exercise and read too though!

Xbox 360 - Gaming Now

By: Ted Belfour
With a variety of gaming consoles available today, all produced by well known and high profile corporations, it can be difficult to know which one is the best to invest your hard earned money in. The choice can become even more overwhelming as technology marches on relentlessly and consoles seem to change as quickly as you can turn around, so if you are having some trouble making a choice, here are some thoughts that might just help you out.

The average lifespan, it is estimated, of a games console is about five years. That is not to say that your still working gaming equipment will suddenly and inexplicably combust after a five year period, rather that at about that time, manufacturers typically introduce a more technologically advanced version of their former console. If being at the cutting edge of technology is important to you, then purchasing a console at the start of this standard five-year period is a wise move.

That's partly why the Xbox 360 is a great choice right now. Released at the end of 2005, the technology it comprises is absolutely cutting edge, making it, according to a whole host of reviewers, the best buy available. With a wide range of features, including high quality online gaming capability and HDTV compatibility, the Xbox 360 offers a fantastic all round gaming experience. And though this version of the Xbox surpassed its predecessor after only four years, the lifespan of the previous console has been extended to a certain extent, as over two hundred of the most popular Xbox games are compatible with the new 360 version.

Some gamers are holding off on purchasing the Xbox 360. Why? Because the PlayStation 3 is due out sometime this year. But while most experts agree that the PS 3 is likely to contain more technological innovation that the already released Xbox 360, the PlayStation is likely to cost up to $200 more. For the extra investment, the PS 3 will include a Blu-ray high definition DVD player - the down side of this, however, is that movies are not currently available in this format, though they are likely to surface within the next two years.

There is little question that the upcoming PlayStation will be somewhat technologically superior to the Xbox 360, but with a release date still to be confirmed, many gamers prefer not to wait to enjoy gaming of the highest quality. And with technology that will be useless to the majority of consumers for the next couple of years, for many gamers, the PlayStation 3 simply isn't worth the wait. So enjoy the moment in all its glory, and go for an Xbox 360.

A New Level in Gaming

By: Ted Belfour
Those of us of a certain age can remember a time when computer gaming signified all the excitement inherent in a game of Pong, that toe-curlingly breathtaking game where one or two players hit a computerized ball against a computerized wall or between tow, you guessed it, computerized paddles. While those early days of gaming were exciting enough for a generation to whom all this technology was new, today's gamers are merely bemused by what used to pass for a good time. But then they're used to so much more, a fact exemplified perfectly by the 2005 pre-Christmas release of Microsoft's Xbox 360.

Computer gaming has come a long way in the last twenty years. From iconic Atari Pac-man who chomped through a screen of varying two-dimensional foes, gaming today is now barely recognizable as the same species of fun. Today an enormous variety of games include graphics that are startlingly life-life and storylines complex enough to sustain film versions of the same plot, creating a leisure activity so immediate and thrilling that it satisfies the urges of the most dedicated adrenaline junkie.

The Xbox 360 exemplifies all that is possible in today's gaming world. With powerful graphic and audio capabilities, this console offers a gaming experience that is second to none. And as developments in the world of technology allow functional lines to be easily crossed, the Xbox 360 also offers much more than those old Atari games ever could.

The PS3: What is Sony Thinking?

By: Melissa Miller
A statement was issued this morning stating that the much anticipated PS3 will be delayed, AGAIN. The new release date for the PS3 in Europe will now be somewhere around March of 2007 for Europe, Russia, and the Middle East. It has also been confirmed that the production of the console has been scaled back by a considerable amount. There will be only 100,000 consoles released in Japan when it goes on sale for them on November 11th. On top of that, North America will only be receiving roughly 400,000 units for launch on November 17th. Sony had originally announced that the first launch would be around 2 million, and now they are falling quite short of that.

What is going on here? Does Sony not realize they could be taking themselves out of the console race with these delays? They are already starting to see slipping profits, and so are some of their game creators. And all we keep hearing are excuses, excuses, and more excuses. By the time they start releasing their precious console, most of the world is going to own a 360. The prices are already dropping for the 360, and parents will not be willing to shell out money for both consoles. Sony was already taking some chances when they priced their console much higher than the 360 and the Wii. But, if you make them wait too long, they will purchase the best product that they can get their hands on. With all of these delays and unit cutbacks, Sony seems to want to keep pushing people towards the 360.

I think the best thing for Sony to do at the moment would be to step up and admit they tried to take on too much at once. Sony has stated more than once that the PS3 will be on the market at least 10 before they consider making a replacement. So, they are trying to jam every new technology into this one, and it seems it's too much to juggle. There are many gamers that have expressed the feeling of being lied to by Sony, and they just want to hear the truth. If you deceive your customers, they will know it, and Sony has too much competition to risk that. It's like trying to play a video game with a broken controller: you can barely get through, you usually end up dying, and all your efforts were a waste of time. Wake up Sony!

This piece of Nintendo Wii hardware is employed being a gun extension for the key controller. It clips on the top key controller along with the nunchaku. By using both of these together the zapper makes it possible for you to not only aim and shoot, but manage your player's movements too. This piece of hardware is ideal for first individual shooter games and adds a complete new element for your gaming experience. Unlike the nunchaku, the zapper can not be utilised on all video games. However, the games that it does work for are commonly specifically developed for use with the Zapper and can't be genuinely be played otherwise. So while this piece of hardware isn't as widely utilized as the nuchaku, it does open up a entire collection of games that could not be played without its use.

And on top of that these games are always constantly updated which means there is a strong need for a game beta tester to come in to continually test these games. The last thing a major company like EA or blizzard needs is to send out games that are junk and infested with errors and glitches.
And this is where you come in to help out as a game beta tester.

Why Video Game Beta Testing?

Did you catch that title? Why video game beta testing? Here are a few more questions. Do you love playing games? Do you want to be a video game designer? Have you ever wondered how to get into the video game industry? Well lets hope that after you are done reading this article you will have clearer answers to these questions. Lets get started.
So... Why video game beta testing? This is the first question most of us with the interest ask ourselves and answering it can be sorta tough. Not difficult but complicated. It's not just one thing, it's a lot of things together. You might want to be the first to see the games before they are released. Or you might really enjoy playing electronic games and want to turn that into a career or at least a job. Or it could simply be a choice between heavy work outdoors verses indoor work at a desk and the desk won. Whatever the reason, once the idea gets into your head it's hard to get it out because it sounds like so much fun! Oh and as far as I can tell there aren't any game beta tester employers who start you at less that $10 an hour.
Do you love playing video games as much as I do? Well that's another good reason to try video game beta testing. I play MMORPGs all the time and I have to say that I would have loved having a chance to be on the ground floor helping them fix all the bugs that most of these games have. Not only would that make game play better for me but for everyone else who would play the game as well. If you love gaming as much as I do this might be the industry for you.

Video Gaming Addiction

Gaming addiction has recently entered the media limelight as a new dependency for adults and children. While gaming in any format is supposed to be fun, when does the line blur and become an uncontrollable compulsive behaviour? Video games on PlayStation, Xbox, Wii and PC can be incredibly addictive, sapping hours away from a person's life.
People suffering from gaming addiction find it difficult to balance real life and the gaming world. They prefer to disappear into video games for hours, sometimes days, blocking out the real world.
Having something as troubling as a gaming addiction can lead to a withdrawal from society in the same way as any other addict. Video gaming is now a socially acceptable habit, with millions of new gamers getting on board every year.
In the past people were only ever able to play on their own or with a close friend in the same room as they were. These days online gaming is virtually limitless with games that constantly develop and never end. This has led to a massive increase in gamers who choose to make friends online who play the same game as they do. Though this may seem social, it can be at the expense of the gamer going out into the real world.
There are warning signs to indicate when someone may have a gaming addiction. The most obvious sign is sitting at the computer whenever they have a spare moment, to the point where they start to neglect social activity, and the company of their family and friends. The gaming addict will feel a desperate need to be gaming, whenever they can. Excessive hours playing video games can result in repetitive strain injury (RSI), eye complaints and sleeping problems.
Gaming addiction leaves the gamer uncomfortable and anxious when they don't have a mouse or a control pad in their hands. They develop a dependency on gaming and spend more and more time inside the virtual realm.
The consequence is a replacing of the real world with the digital world of video games. It can damage school performance, work and relationships, as the gamer blanks out everything around them to enjoy their fantasy time online or inside a game. This compulsion will only grow stronger the more time that they commit to it.
To aid someone you believe may have a gaming addiction, it can help to explain why their compulsion could be having a detrimental effect on their lives. Video gaming addiction is here to stay and will do so until society starts to recognise it as a genuine dependency problem.

Xbox 360 is Better Than the PS3

The Xbox 360 and PS3 are both gaming consoles that have taken the gaming arena by storm. While Xbox 360 is the successor of Xbox and is manufactured by Microsoft, PS3, also known as PlayStation 3 is the successor of PS2 and is manufactured by Sony. Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 are masters in their own areas, however there are certain features in Xbozx360 that makes it win over Sony's PS3. In this article we have put together some of the features that make the Xbo360 a much better gaming console than PS3.
Availability of Games
Microsoft's Xbox 360 was launched much earlier than Sony's PS3, giving it an edge over the PS3 in terms of the number of games that were developed and that are available to gaming fans all over the world. There are close to 676 games available to Xbox360 users all over the world out of which 117 games are exclusive only to Xbox, 559 games are multiplatform games and 75 games are exclusive only to Xbox 360 console. The PS3 has only 607 games out of which only 9 games are exclusive to the PS3 console. This clearly indicates that users of the Xbox360 have access to more exclusive games that they can enjoy.
Price
The Xbox 260 250 GB console retails for just $285 where as the PS3 250 GB gaming console retails for a whopping $429. The PS3 with its exorbitant price range remains inaccessible to a majority of gaming enthusiasts who are on a tight budget whereas the Xbox360 which retails at a mere $285 is something that attracts a huge chunk of gaming enthusiasts. Thus Microsoft's 360 scores over Sony's PS3 with respect to the pricing thus making it better than the PS3.
Graphics
For people who are very particular about the clarity of the game and the gaming consoles abilities to handle complex graphics, the 360 will satisfy all your needs here. The X-box 360 with the Xenos graphic processing unit is able to churn out better graphical experiences than the PS3 with the RSX graphical processing unit. The Xbox 360's graphical processing unit also offers multithreading and a balanced design on the screen. Apart from the other features of Xbox 360's graphical processing unit like programmable vertex fetching, full rate texture fetching in the vertex shader, automatic shader load balancing, memory export features and other features of the Xenos graphic processing unit of Xbox360 makes it a superior product.
Bandwidth
Microsoft's 360 offers its users a total of 278.4 GB per second system bandwidth while the PS3 offers only a total of 48 GB per second. This means Xbox 360 offers you better performance in comparison to its counterpart, the PS3 which is very important for avid gamers and thus making the Xbox 360 a clear must buy.
These are some features that Microsoft's Xbox 360 has that make it win over its competitor clearly the PS3 from Sony Computer Entertainment.

Mario Games That Are Easy

Nowadays, most of the video games are introduced with the latest graphics. Technology has changed and is changing the video game world. However, Mario is the all time favorite for most of the people. Kids are usually happy and excited about the Mario games. Even the adults are also excited by this amazing game, to tell the truth they are even addicted to this than most of the kids. Some of the easy and famous Mario games are given below.
Mario Galaxy:
The return of Mario to the 3D platform came five years after Super Mario Sunshine. You would not have imagined Mario in space but here you can explore the space with him. Gravity is cleverly used in this game. This is considered as one of the best Mario games ever played.
Super Mario Bros.:
Home console gaming is revolutionized by Super Mario Bros game. A narrative side scrolling is used in this game. Mario defeats most of his enemies for eating the super mushrooms and for growing into Super Mario. He throws fireballs with the help of fire flowers. It has been 25 years since this video game is released but it still holds up with fun. Even now, you cannot take the music out of your head.
Super-Mario 64:
The Biggest change in the Mario series is brought in this game with the third dimension. It is jaw-dropping experience to switch from the two dimension horizontal scroll to the 360-degree action platform. Collecting stars and defeating the Bowser's army is challenging, fun, long and satisfying. Super Mario 64 is a game changer to the video games in general and to the Mario series.
Super Mario Land:
Super Mario Land is a black and white version. The lack of color did not diminish the Mario game play trademark. In this game, Mario's task is to save Princess Daisy. Here there is no Princess Peach, Luigi, and Bowser.
Mario Bros:
Luigi, the taller and clumsier brother of Mario enters the scene in this game. Like Joust, this game has an arena like layout. The setting for this game is some creatures overrun the pipes of a sewer from New York. You have to defeat the evil turtles by knocking and kicking them on back.
Super Mario World 2:
Super Mario World's most popular Yoshi is the star of this sequel, but it ended up as a prequel. Yoshi executes the flutter jump, which is his trademark and collects eggs. His job is to take care of the infant Mario. The stylized graphics used in this game brought a striking change to the series. You have to realize that Mario is not the main character in this game.
Mario has made his appearance in over 200 games until now, and you can see that the number is increasing with time. Mario was not introduced as a good person; he mistreated his lovable pet ape. The job profile of Mario is changed from carpenter to plumber in the year 1983. Let us hope that Nintendo keeps the Mario fans happy with its classic new Mario games.

Here's the Best Way You Can Burn PS3 Games

Burning PlayStation 3 video games is on the minds of lots of PS3 players! It's something that pops up lots since numerous PS3 owners want to burn their game discs, but aren't sure the way to go about it. In today's guide we are going to review precisely how you can duplicate PS3 games.
As you can imagine we are doing this article as a way to teach gamers how to burn the games they already have and usually are not telling people to burn discs that aren't yours already. However, it is usually legal to burn what you already own in order to protect them against damage or loss. There is nothing more frustrating than losing a PS3 game you own because it accidentally gets scratched.
Let's take a look! If you're wanting to backup PS3 games, you will have to make use of a computer program designed to burn games. These aren't the same kind of computer software you use to copy a music CD. Numerous people have tried to use a regular CD copying software just to find out that they wasted a blank disc.
The reason that ordinary CD copying softwares aren't able to burn video games is that the discs have got copyright protection on them. These guards prevent your computer from reading the info on the game disc meaning your computer can't burn the video game.
Luckily, there are now computer programs that make use of state-of-the-art technology that can get around these guards. Specific video game duplicating applications let your computer read the data on the game and backup the PS3 game. You need to install it on your computer system and can then backup a PlayStation 3 disc whenever you want.
Thankfully they are not difficult to use. You throw in the video game, allow your computer system to make an image of the information onto your hard drive, then toss in a blank DVD disc so that the info is moved. By the end you have got an exact backup of the original video game. It should take approximately twenty five or thirty minutes to finish off depending on your computer.
You can purchase a high-rated program for less than the price of just one game. You shouldn't have to pay out more than fifty dollars. A top program will also provide you a moneyback promise so that you can be confident that you can get your moneyback if there are any troubles.
Copying PlayStation 3 games is a brilliant method to guard your video games and a tool that each PS3 owner should have available to them. Any gamer that owns a PlayStation 3 can benefit from this kind of software to protect their games.

ACE ONLINE
This is a three dimensional shooter game developed by Masangsoft and owned by YD online Corp. The game involves a fight between two imaginary cities namely the Bygeniou City United (BCU) and Arlington National Influence (ANI). The goal of the player on each side is to shoot down an enemy fighter to collect National Contribution Points (NCP). The player is awarded 1 NCP for shooting down an enemy combatant. Strategic Points, Mothership wars and Arena battles are some of the other means to collect NCPs though a win in Arena battles does not yield as many points as in the other two situations. The duel can either be a one-on-one fight or can be a formation battle. The formation battle allows up to six players per formation. However, a battle formation requires the presence of all members of the adversaries to be logged on and present on the same map. A formation is declared a winner when all the members of the other team are eliminated either by enemy shooting or by some other means.

Final Fantasy XIII (13) Review (PS3 and Xbox 360)

The latest offering from the Final Fantasy franchise has proved contentious and has divided its enormous fan base into two groups: those who resist changes to its almost twenty year old formula...and those who embrace them. However, regardless of whether you consider yourself a battle-scarred veteran of role playing video games, or are simply seeking a slice of escapism to immerse yourself in, Final Fantasy XIII is likely to satisfy every desire - despite some jarring flaws.
Those who have followed the franchise since its birth in the late eighties (in all its sixteen bit glory and two dimensional storyline) will have been awaiting this release with bated breath. The previous installment had, by all accounts, disappointed in terms of characters and storyline, having decided to simply lavish impressive graphics and game play on the reader instead. Fortunately, one can quite safely assert that publisher 'Square Enix' have learned from this mistake, and invested in deep characters, an engaging plot, and some more than memorable events to be devoured by the player.
Players take on the role of the feisty and scantily clad heroine Lightning, who is on a bloody yet often uplifting quest to save her sister. She is joined by the cocky and self assured character Snow, as well as an afro-sporting, middle-aged wise cracker by the name of Sazh. The latter is particularly charming, not least of all because a cute, little yellow bird called a 'Chocobo' lives inside his hair. This motley crew of rebels travel extensively across a rich and awe-inspiring fictional world, engaging in battles and fantasy daring do at every turn. Although it may sound not unlike stock components of your average Japanese RPG, this episode of the Final Fantasy saga feels by no means stale. Plot twists and shocking revelations are sprinkled liberally across the game, avoiding the classic RPG pitfall of being too much like a prosaic cliché-ridden film, and less like a tear-jerking, emotionally exhausting video game.
In between lengthy cut scenes which drive the plot steadily towards its satisfying yet shocking conclusion, players must engage in numerous turn based battles with a combat system which clearly attempts to synthesize the best aspects of its predecessors. Gone is the real time action of its predecessor Final Fantasy XII, having been replaced by the old yet reliable ATB system - with a twist. Rather than simply waiting for your characters' turn and hitting a button every now and again, players have nearly full control of each character, and will often need to make quick tactical decisions in order to ensure victory. As usual, the thirteenth installment also offers a plethora of exotic weapons, armours and spells for the player to collect along his way, as well as some valuable items achievable only through the game's numerous side quests. Therefore, regarding the storyline and battle system, Final Fantasy XIII delivers in spades, and is guaranteed to satisfy even the most diehard of RPG fans.
The music, as always, is quite exquisite in this latest episode of Final Fantasy. 'Masashi Hamauzu', the composer of the equally successful tenth installment, triumphs once again by offering a rich casket of orchestral pieces for the player to enjoy. Perhaps the catchiest is the theme music for battles, a true ear worm which one will have to hear an almost infinite amount of times while playing the game. Fortunately, it never gets old. By the same token, the graphics of Final Fantasy XIII are truly stunning - every player will be seduced by the gorgeous cities and staggering lighting effects that the game has to offer. At times the player may find themselves doing a double take, amazed that the richly and meticulously animated characters on-screen are not, in fact, real people.
However, the game is not without its flaws, and these can sometimes glare so strongly at the player that they can severely disrupt enjoyment. Vanille, for example, one of the main characters, has been almost universally condemned by the Final Fantasy fan base as generic and irritating. Her voice is admittedly somewhat jarring and one puzzles as to what the production team were thinking when they hired Vanille's voice actress. Furthermore, her consistent yet infuriating optimism, even at the darkest and most depressing points of the games' plot, means she in unable to transcend the murky realm of video game stock clichés. Another rather disappointing aspect, borrowed somewhat dubiously from Final Fantasy X, is the severe linear quality of the game. The player must literally follow set paths from A to B throughout its entirety. Although the visuals are impressive, this formula can nonetheless grow prosaic and frustrating.
However, in spite of these shortcomings, one cannot deny that Final Fantasy XIII is a triumphant installment to Square Enix's lucrative franchise. For those who are able to ignore the linear nature of the game play and deafen themselves to Vanille's incoherent rambling, the thirteenth installment in this fantasy saga offers a rich and awe inspiring world of sword and sorcery. Perfect for diehard fans and RPG newcomers alike, this game is not be missed.
